Oglethorpe junior first baseman Casey Tuttle was named SAA Player of the Week yesterday evening for his work in three games last week.
Tuttle had an excellent week at the plate for the Stormy Petrels. In three games, he went 6-for-9 with a double, a walk, two stolen bases, an RBI and two runs scored. In Saturday's loss to Bates, he went 4-for-5 with a double, a stolen base, and two runs scored. In Sunday's win against the same team, he posted a 2-for-4 night with a stolen base, an RBI and a run scored. At this early point in the season, Tuttle has thus far reached base seven of the 10 times he has stepped to the plate, including at least once in all three games he's played.
Tuttle and the rest of the Stormy Petrels will be in action tomorrow evening at 5 p.m. from Anderson Field, when they take on in-state rival Piedmont.
