This weekend's 3-game home series against the visiting MIT Engineers will now be spread over three separate days due to forecast rain in the Atlanta area Saturday morning. Friday's first pitch is scheduled for 4 p.m., while Saturday will now feature a single game at 3 p.m. Sunday will remain as originally scheduled, with a single game at noon.
The Stormy Petrels enter the series looking to snap a 6-game losing streak, as they've come through an extremely difficult stretch where their last four games have been against top five competition on the road (three games at No. 4 Birmingham-Southern, one at No. 1 Emory). They'll take on a solid MIT team who, like the Petrels, feature a Preseason First Team All-America honoree (shortstop Austin Filiere), and have received votes in the D3baseball.com poll at various times during the season. The Engineers will enter the weekend at 1-1 after a split with Texas Lutheran in their first series of the season.
