  • Baseball Splits Doubleheader from MacMurray
    February 17, 2018
    The Oglethorpe baseball team earned a doubleheader split with the visiting MacMurray Highlanders Saturday afternoon at Anderson Field. They won the first game in a 21-6 rout, but MacMurray responded with a 7-4 victory in Game 2. The split moved the Stormy Petrels to 4-2 on the young season with the rubber game of the series coming on Sunday.
  • Baseball Falls to Crosstown Rival Emory in Midweek Matchup

    The Oglethorpe baseball team suffered their first loss of the season Tuesday afternoon, as they fell 13-1 to crosstown rival Emory at the Eagles’ Chappell Park. The result dropped the Stormy Petrels to 3-1 on the season.
  • Baseball Blanks Covenant 14-0 in Seven Innings to Start Season 3-0

    The Oglethorpe baseball team continued its outstanding play to start the season Tuesday afternoon, as they pounded the Covenant Scots at their home field on Lookout Mountain, winning 14-0 in seven innings to improve to 3-0 on the young season. The Stormy Petrels scored three runs each in the third and fourth innings, then blew the game open with a 6-run seventh inning to clinch the victory after Covenant failed to answer in the bottom half of the inning.
  • Babb Takes SAA Pitcher of the Week Honors to Open Season

    Oglethorpe junior left-hander Kyle Babb was named the SAA Pitcher of the Week by the conference office on Monday for his part in the Stormy Petrels' 4-man combined no-hitter. It marked the first time in Babb's career that he's received the award.
  • Four Petrel Pitchers Combine for No-Hitter as Baseball Sweeps Covenant in Doubleheader

    The Oglethorpe baseball team got its 2018 season off to an outstanding start Saturday at Anderson Field, as they swept the visiting Covenant Scots in a doubleheader while throwing the fourth no-hitter in the program's Division III era in a 4-1 win in Game 2.
  • 2018 Baseball Season Preview

    The Oglethorpe baseball team is about set to take the field for the 2018 season, and will return a number of important contributors to last season's squad and mix them in with a variety of newcomers. The team will get started against in-state opponent Covenant Saturday afternoon at Anderson Field, where the two teams will play a doubleheader beginning at 2 p.m.
