Oglethorpe seniors Branden Jovaag and Christian Molinet have been chosen to play in the fourth annual Georgia Basketball Coaches Association (GABCA) Senior All-Star Game on Saturday in Dorough Field House on the campus of Oglethorpe University. Seniors from Division II and III schools throughout the state will participate in the game, to be played at 7:30 p.m. Saturday.
Jovaag was named Second-Team All-SAA for his work this season, which included finishing first in the league in three-point shooting percentage (45.3) and in three-point baskets (91). He was also named to the Capital One Academic All-District team for his work both on the floor and in the classroom, and was named to the SAA All-Tournament team.
Molinet garnered Second-Team All-SAA honors of his own. He led the league in assists per game (5.1) and overall assists (137), setting the school single-season record in both categories. He finished a full assist per game ahead of his closest competitor in the former category, and 25 assists ahed in the latter.
Jovaag will also be one of four players participating in a three-point shooting contest at halftime of the game.
All four GABCA Senior All-Star Games have been held in Dorough Field House. The event is free and open to the public.
