    The Oglethorpe men's basketball team hung with the homestanding Covenant Scots throughout the first half Saturday afternoon in Lookout Mountain, Georgia, but a big second-half run vaulted Covenant to an 88-80 win over the Stormy Petrels in the final game for Oglethorpe before they head out for winter break. The loss dropped the Petrels to an even 5-5 on the season.

Berry's Elijah Hirsch hit a fadeway jumper with three seconds to go in the second overtime period, however, giving his team an 82-81 win over the Stormy Petrels and dropping Oglethorpe to 4-4 on the season.
