Golfers Score Solid 2nd Place Finish at Camp Lejeune

Methodist fired the low round of the tournament on Sunday afternoon to run away with the 2012 Camp Lejeune Invitational in Jacksonville, N.C. The Petrels started play just 2 strokes back of the Monarchs but had to settle for second place after the Monarchs posted their sterling final round.

Sophomore Hayden Jones just missed competing in a four-way playoff for medalist honors after his birdie putt on 18 missed by an inch. He settled for a fourth place overall finish after shooting rounds of 68-65-74 for a total of 7-under par.

Freshman Anthony Maccaglia came home at 1-over par while junior Eric Quinn (pictured scrambling from the trees at Paradise Point, photo courtesy of the Jacksonville Daily News) finished at 3-over. Senior Matt Rebitch came home 8-over while sophomore Anthony Amodeo finished up at 10-over par.
