Piedmont College topped the Oglethorpe men's lacrosse team 22-6 in Demorest, Ga. on Wednesday evening. The Lions tallied their first strike just 33 seconds into the contest and never looked back en route to building a comfortable 11-2 halftime advantage.
Freshman Coleman Plaisted put the Petrels on the board with a goal halfway through the first quarter but Piedmont would respond with the next two to give them a 5-1 lead after the first fifteen minutes. The Lions cushion swelled to 8-1 before Plaisted found junior Michael Kasmarik for a goal. Again, however, Piedmont ended the quarter with three consecutive strikes to open up the game.
The Petrels are now 0-3 on the season and will travel to face Dallas in Texas on March 23.
