Oglethorpe Places 23 Fall Athletes on SCAC Honor Roll
The Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference has announced its Student-Athlete Academic Honor Roll for the 2009 fall term and Oglethorpe placed 23 student-athletes on the list.

McConnell, Koch Named All-SCAC Soccer Sportsmanship Athletes
The Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) today announced its second annual Mens and Womens Soccer All-Sportsmanship teams and Oglethorpe players Harrison McConnell and Kristen Koch have been selected. Twenty three mens and womens soccer players were selected to the 2009 squad.

The Oglethorpe University men's soccer team lost to Southwestern on Salamone Field on Sunday afternoon, 3-0 The Petrels are now 6-10-2 on the season and will play their final game this Saturday against Sewanee at 12:00 p.m. on Salamone Field.

The Oglethorpe University men's and women's soccer teams were swept by nationally acclaimed Trinity University on Salamone Field on Friday night. The men fell to the Tigers by the score of 3-0 while the women were downed 8-0.

Akin Records Milestone in Victory over Piedmont
Oglethorpe University mens soccer coach Jon Akin became the all-time leader in coaching victories in the schools history on Tuesday night after topping Piedmont College, 3-2. Akin, who was named Oglethorpes head coach in 2003, won his 58th all-time contest to surpass former Stormy Petrel coach Bucky Reynolds.

The Oglethorpe University men's soccer team lost to Emory University on Salamone Field on Wednesday afternoon, 3-1. The game was knotted at one goal apiece for a long stretch but the Eagles found the back of the net twice in the game's final 10 minutes to secure the win.

The Petrels tied the game at one apiece just before the halftime buzzer on a loose ball goal by Bryan Burnick but the Colonels got the game's final two scores for the 3-1 win.
