Oglethorpe senior Bryan Bailey was named the SAA men's tennis player of the week for his work last week in matches against Huntingdon and Mississippi College.
The captain of the Petrels squad, Bailey went 4-0 last week with solid wins at No. 2 doubles and No. 3 singles against both Huntingdon and Mississippi College. His timely 6-1, 6-4 victory No. 3 singles in the dual match against regionally-ranked Mississippi College gave his team a 3-1 lead en route to a 7-2 victory. His doubles team won the No. 2 doubles slot, 8-1.
Additionally, he won the No. 3 singles match against Huntingdon 6-0, 6-1, and his No. 2 doubles team won 9-7. The team went on to win that dual match, 9-0.
On the season, Bailey's doubles teams are 4-2, including victories against Savannah Art and Design-Atlanta, Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College, Huntingdon and Mississippi College. He is currently 3-3 in singles matches, garnering victories against Savannah Art and Design-Atlanta, Huntingdon and Mississippi College.
