Jacob Hadden finishes 213th in first career NCAA Championship appearance

Sophomore Jacob Hadden of the Oglethorpe men's cross country team finished 213th out of 280 runners at the NCAA Division III Cross Country Championships in Winneconne, Wisconsin, Saturday afternoon. The Stormy Petrel runner crossed the finish line of the Lake Breeze Golf Club's 8-kilometer course in 26 minutes, 17.9 seconds. He finished fifth among SAA competitors at the meet.

North Central (Illinois) took their record 19th national championship at the event, while Dhruvil Patel of North Central won the individual championship with a time of 24:24.5.

Hadden finishes the season having earned All-SAA first team honors from the league's coaches and South/Southeast All-Region honors from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association. His 11th place finish at the regional meet marked the highest that a Petrel has finished there since 1993. It was also their first all-conference first team designation since joining the SAA in 2012.
