Basketball Teams to Host Coaches vs. Cancer Event Sunday, All Fans Encouraged to Wear Gold The Oglethorpe basketball teams are set to host a Coaches vs. Cancer event for their games Sunday afternoon against Hendrix. The women's team takes on the Warriors at noon while the men's game tips off at approximately 2 p.m. Entry proceeds from both games will be donated to the Sam Robb Fund to benefit childhood cancer research and outreach. Birmingham-Southern Pulls Away in Final Four Minutes to Defeat Women's Basketball, 64-55 The Oglethorpe women's basketball team suffered the first loss of their SAA campaign Friday night in a battle for sole possession of first place in the league in Birmingham, Alabama. The homestanding Birmingham-Southern Panthers outscored the Stormy Petrels 10-2 over the final four minutes en route to a 64-55 victory, dropping Oglethorpe into second place at 3-1 in league play and 9-6 overall.
