Women's Lacrosse Drops 17-2 Decision at Rhodes

The Oglethorpe women's lacrosse team suffered a 17-2 defeat at Rhodes Saturday despite a pair of goals from sophomore attacker Michelle Vasques.

Vasques scored twice on three shots, both coming in the first half. Her tallies came at the 25:06 and 37-second marks, but they weren't enough to keep the Stormy Petrels in the game against the home-standing Lynx. Rhodes was up 10-2 at the half and completed their scoring with a 15-goal advantage at the 7:21 mark of the second half.

Sophomore midfielder Sydney Sparks grabbed three draw controls to lead the Petrels, and sophomore goalie Paige Falkowski stopped nine shots on the afternoon.

The loss drops the Petrels to 0-13 on the season, 0-6 in SAA play. They'll travel to Kentucky next weekend to wind up their regular season with their SAA finale at Centre next Saturday before visiting Transylvania in a non-conference tilt in Lexington next Sunday.
