Madison Goss Takes SAA Women's Lacrosse Weekly Offensive Honors

Junior midfielder Madison Goss of the Oglethorpe women's lacrosse team was named the SAA Women's Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week by the league office on Monday for her efforts in her team's 26-4 victory over Brenau on Tuesday. It marked the first such award of her career.

Goss had an outstanding week for the Stormy Petrels, scoring four goals and passing out two assists in the team's victory over Brenau. In addition, Goss nabbed seven draw controls over the course of the game. For the season, Goss sits ninth in the SAA in draw controls with 23.

"I think the Brenau game went well," said Goss, "not only for myself, but for our team, as well. It's been amazing to see how much the team has grown in just one season. I'm excited to see how we compete in the second half of the season!"

Goss and the rest of the Petrels will be in action this weekend, as they host Huntingdon at 1 p.m. on Saturday at the Oglethorpe Track and Field. After that, they'll hit the road for three straight games, starting with a contest Wednesday, March 28, at LaGrange.
