The Oglethorpe women's soccer team lost, 4-0, at in-state rival LaGrange Thursday night. The loss dropped the Petrels to 2-2 on the season.
The Petrels fell behind early on, conceding the opening goal in the 16th minute. They would fall behind 2-0 in the 30th minute and would enter halftime with that same deficit. Meanwhile, Oglethorpe struggled to get any attack going. They were outshot 13-4, 8-2 on goal.
LaGrange likely put the game away in the 47th minute, as they picked up a third goal right after halftime to take a commanding 3-0 lead. They went on to score another goal, as well.
Sarah Craig stopped four shots out of six for the Petrels in goal. Her net was under siege in the second half, as LaGrange outshot Oglethorpe 7-1 in the period.
The Petrels will take the weekend off before hosting Agnes Scott on Wednesday evening. The match is scheduled to get underway at 5:30 p.m.
