Women's Soccer Loses at Birmingham Southern, 1-0

The Oglethorpe women's soccer team lost to Birmingham Southern Sunday afternoon in Birmingham, Ala., falling 1-0 to the home-standing Lady Panthers.

The Lady Petrels couldn't get much going against Birmingham Southern, who scored the game's only goal in the 34th minute.

Oglethorpe was outshot in the game 23-2. Both of the Lady Petrels' shots were put on goal, while 12 of Birmingham Southern's shots were on frame.

Bailey Evans had an excellent game in goal for Oglethorpe, making 11 saves on Birmingham Southern's 12 shots on goal.

Birmingham Southern took seven corner kicks, while Oglethorpe did not take any.

This loss, coupled with Oglethorpe's 1-0 loss at Millsaps, drops them to 4-9 on the season, 1-5 in SAA play. They will next be in action on Tuesday, when they will travel to Chattanooga, Tenn., to take on Tennessee Temple. Next weekend, they take on Berry in their final conference game of the season before travelling to Danville, Ky., the weekend after for the SAA Tournament.
