Women's Track and Field Places in a Tie for 19th at Emory Classic

The Oglethorpe women's track and field team finishing tied for 19th at the Emory Classic in Atlanta over the weekend, marking the second straight weekend in which the Petrels competed at Emory's Woodruff P.E. Center track.

The Stormy Petrels were led on the weekend by junior Arielle Shaw, who finished sixth in the triple jump, and second among Division III athletes, with a leap of 36 feet, 9 inches.

Meanwhile, sophomore Kayla Trice finished 10th in the 100-meter dash competition and 12th in the 200-meter dash. Junior Nicolette Andrey came in 16th in the 400-meter dash, while sophomore Hava Stenn finished 10th in the 1500-meter run and junior Kara Jones came in 12th. Andrey finished 12th in the 400-meter hurdles, and freshman Courtney Stuart 11th in the pole vault. 

The Petrels will be back in action on April 6 and 7, when they travel to Mount Berry for the Berry Field Day Invitational. After that, they'll conclude the regular season with a trip to Sewanee, Tennessee, for the Mountain Laurel Twilight Invitational on April 13.
