Volleyball Set to Support Breast Cancer Awareness this Month with "Blocks and Burpees for Boobies" Initiative

The Oglethorpe volleyball team will be promoting and raising money to support breast cancer awareness this month as part of their "Blocks and Burpees for Boobies" campaign, in conjunction with Tropical Smoothie Cafe of Brookhaven. Fans will be able to support the cause by donating on location at Oglethorpe's four home matches in October: Friday against Birmingham-Southern at 7 p.m., Saturday against Millsaps at noon, Oct. 21 against Sewanee at 1 p.m., and Oct. 22 against Centre at noon.

The Brookhaven location of Tropical Smoothie Cafe will be at the matches against Birmingham-Southern and Millsaps, and will be selling pink smoothies and other items with the proceeds going to benefit breast cancer causes in the Atlanta area.

The team will be looking for donations from the public at large, and money will be donated for each block the team collects over the month. Also, the Stormy Petrels will do burpees in a video posted to their Facebook page (https://m.facebook.com/OUPetrelVB/) for every dollar donated to the cause.

The Petrels will wear pink warmup shirts and pink jerseys during these four games, as well.

Be sure to come out to Dorough Field House all month and support the Petrels' "Blocks and Burpees for Boobies" campaign.
