The Stormy Petrels will look to cap an outstanding season that saw both teams earn the best finishes in their SAA history, and saw three men's runners take All-SAA honors.
  • Women's Cross Country Earns Best-Ever SAA Finish with Fifth-Place Mark at Conference Meet

    The Oglethorpe women's cross country team finished fifth at the SAA Cross Country Championships Saturday morning at Nash Farm Battlefield in Hampton, Georgia, posting an average time of 27 minutes, 26 seconds in the six-kilometer race and a total time of 2 hours, 17 minutes and 13 seconds. The finish was the best in their SAA history, topping the previous mark of seventh place which was set in 2016.
  • SAA Cross Country Championships Moved Up One Hour Due to Weather

    The SAA Cross Country Championships, set to be hosted by Oglethorpe and to take place at Nash Farm Battlefield in Hampton, have been moved up an hour due to forecast bad weather Saturday in the Atlanta area. The women's race will now get started at 9 a.m. and the men's race will get underway at 10 a.m.
  • Fall Teams to Compete in SAA Championships Saturday

    The Oglethorpe cross country and soccer teams will be competing in various SAA championship events on Saturday. The men's and women's cross country teams will battle for their respective conference championships, while the men's and women's soccer teams will play in the quarterfinal round of their respective tournaments.
  • Men's Cross Country Finishes Fouth at Berry Invitational; Stenn Leads Women in 25th

    The Oglethorpe cross country team closed out their regular season Saturday at the Berry Invitational in Mount Berry. The men finished fourth as a team, coming home with an average time of 27 minutes, 40.81 seconds and a total time of 2 hours, 18 minutes and 24.0 seconds. That put them just a tenth of a second total and two-hundredths of a second on average behind third-place Covenant.
  • Hava Stenn Named SAA Women's Runner of the Week

    Sophomore Hava Stenn of the Oglethorpe women's cross country team was named the SAA Women's Runner of the Week in a vote by the league's coaches Tuesday, marking the second such award of her career and the first time that a member of the squad has earned the accolade this season.

    The Oglethorpe cross country teams competed at the Piedmont Invitational Saturday morning in Tallulah Falls, with the men's squad finishing third overall, putting up an average time of 30 minutes, one second and total time of 2:30.1. The women's squad saw sophomore Hava Stenn set a school six-kilometer record, finishing seventh in 24:06.5.
  • Cross Country Competes Against Division I and II Competition at Florida's Mountain Dew Invitational

    The Oglethorpe cross country team competed against a variety of Division I and Division II competition Saturday at the Mountain Dew Invitational in Gainesville, Florida. The men's team finished 14th amongst a field of 24 teams at the event, which was hosted by the University of Florida, while the women did not haven enough runners compete to officially place, but they did have some solid individual performances.
  • Women's Cross Country Finishes 12th at Furman Invitational, Goodwin Sets School Record

    The Oglethorpe women's cross country team ran well amidst stiff competition Saturday morning at the Furman Invitational in Greenville, South Carolina. The Stormy Petrels finished 12th overall, posting an average time of 26 minutes, 31 seconds. That mark put them third among Division III teams at the meet.
  • Men's Cross Country Finishes Second at Georgia NCAA Division III Invitational; Goodwin Leads Women with 14th Place Finish

    The Oglethorpe men's cross country team enjoyed an excellent start to their season Friday night at the Georgia NCAA Division III Invitational in Mount Berry, finishing second at the meet and earning seven individual top 30 finishes. The meet featured Division III teams from within the state, and only regional power Emory was able to best the Stormy Petrels, who finished with an average time of 28 minutes, 6 seconds around the eight-kilometer course.
  • 2017 Women's Cross Country Season Preview

    The Oglethorpe cross country teams make their return this weekend, and they'll look to build on a 2016 season in which they showed improvement over the course of the season and at the SAA Championships. The men's team finished sixth and the women seventh at that event, marking the highest finishes for either program in their brief SAA history. Now, they'll look to continue to move up the standings as they try to climb to the next tier this season.
