The Oglethorpe men's golf squad put a team of individuals into the Chick-fil-A Collegiate Invitational this week in Rome, and they saw some solid performances on the week overall, led by freshman Justin Rickerson. The Stormy Petrel newcomer finished tied for sixth with an impressive 3-under-par 69 on Tuesday. That allowed him to finish at 1-over 145 overall and put him just six strokes back of the individual medalist, Reed Love of Central Alabama. Rickerson four birdies and his first career eagle on the day.
The Petrels also saw three other members finish in the top 20. Junior Ron Johnson had his second excellent tournament of the fall, finishing tied for 11th at 3-over 147.
