    The Oglethorpe men's soccer team scored an early goal Sunday against the No. 23 Washington and Lee Generals in Lexington, Virginia, but the home side answered with two goals, including one in the 90th minute, to upend the Stormy Petrels and drop them to 4-2 on the season.
  • Men's soccer suffers first loss of season at Lynchburg

    The Oglethorpe men's soccer team, ranked third in the coaches' poll and 13th in the D3soccer.com poll coming into this weekend, fell to the homestanding Lynchburg Hornets 2-1 Friday night in Virginia for their first loss of the young season. Lynchburg's Luke Mega scored twice, the second time with just 10 minutes left, and the Stormy Petrels couldn't make it back. The Petrels fell to 4-1 on the campaign.

    The Oglethorpe men's soccer team earned their highest-ever national ranking Tuesday, as the United Soccer Coaches placed them at No. 3 in the organization's Division III top 25. The Stormy Petrels also came in at No. 13 in the D3soccer.com top 25, which is voted on by a panel of coaches, sports information directors and D3soccer.com staff.
  • Men's soccer trounces Gordon 5-1 to extend unbeaten streak to 17 games over two seasons

    The Oglethorpe men's soccer team extended their unbeaten streak to 17 games dating back to the 2018 season with a comprehensive 5-1 win over the Gordon Fighting Scots Sunday evening at the Oglethorpe Track and Field. The Stormy Petrels jumped on their opponent early and didn't let up, burying Gordon with three first-half goals. The result and improved the home side to 4-0 on the young season.
  • Men's soccer outlasts crosstown rival Emory in 4-2 shootout for third straight victory over crosstown rival

    The Oglethorpe men's soccer team found itself in a tough battle with crosstown rival Emory Friday night at the Woodruff PE Center in Atlanta, but they wound up leading virtually the whole way in a 4-2 victory over the Eagles. The win marked their third straight over their crosstown rivals.

    Senior forward Ryan Marcano of the Oglethorpe men's soccer team has been named the SAA Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week for his efforts in the team's victories over Claremont-M-S and Pomona-Pitzer at Emory's Sonny Carter Invitational.

    The Oglethorpe men's soccer team completed their outstanding weekend at Emory's Sonny Carter Invitational Sunday with a 4-0 victory over Pomona-Pitzer which gave them first place in the four-team event. The Stormy Petrels got a pair of goals from sophomore forward Abraham Lopez and single tallies from senior forward Ryan Marcano and junior forward Gilberto Ramos en route to the victory.
  • Men's soccer starts season with 2-1 extra-time win over Claremont-Mudd-Scripps

    The Oglethorpe men's soccer team got a golden goal from freshman forward James Williams five minutes into the second period of extra time Friday afternoon, lifting them to a 2-1 victory over Claremont-Mudd-Scripps in at Emory's Sonny Carter Invitational. It marked an excellent start to the season for the Stormy Petrels, who will complete their Carter Invitational docket on Sunday against Pomona-Pitzer.
