The Stormy Petrels jumped out to a 2-1 lead in doubles play, but the Lynx fought back and won all five completed singles matches.

The third-line duo of senior Matthew Magee and sophomore Calvin Schneider also played their way to an 8-5 win, putting the Petrels ahead going into singles.

In singles play, Johnson fell 6-2, 6-1 on the second line. Benson dropped his top-line match 6-0, 6-2, while senior Michael Santaloci lost 6-3, 6-2 at No. 4. Those two results put Rhodes ahead 4-2, needing just one more match to clinch the dual match.

They got it at No. 5, as Magee fought hard but fell 6-4, 6-3.

The other two matches were left unfinished.
