The Oglethorpe men's cross country reserves competed Friday evening at the UTC Twilight Meet on a hot, dusty course in East Ridge, Tennessee, finishing seventh among non-Division I competition but finishing with a better total time than Division I Tennessee State.

The Petrels were led by freshman Sam Hunt, who finished in the top half of the 96-man field, placing 45th with a time of 23 minutes, 49.37 seconds on the 7-kilometer course. Freshman Griffin Hodges came in with a 24:48.44, senior Nick Berardi posted a 25.12.22, sophomore Brett Amazon came in at 25:55.21, and freshman Parker Campbell came in at 26:01.65 to round out the Oglethorpe top five.

Oglethorpe will be back in action on Sept. 21, when they travel to Memphis for the Rhodes College Invitational.
