Men's cross country finishes 13th at NCAA Regional

The Oglethorpe men's cross country team placed 13th at the NCAA Division III South/Southeast Regional Saturday in Memphis, Tennessee. They finished with 398 points on the afternoon and an average time of 27 minutes, 1 second on the 8-kilometer course.

Senior Mateo Villa led the Petrels with a 31st-place finish, crossing the finish line in 26:05.1. He was followed by senior Nick Evans, who finished 65th in 26:52.5, and senior Rodrigo Meade, who came in 84th in 27:07.6. Sophomore Thomas Ridley finished 111th with a time of 27:31.6 and sophomore Aidan Goldston rounded out the Oglethorpe top five with a mark of 27:33.3, placing in the top half of the field at 113th overall. 

The Petrels see their season come to a close with their performance at the regional meet. A large percentage of the runners on the team will now get ready for track and field season, which gets going with the indoor schedule over the winter months.
