Soccer, Lacrosse, Track and Field
The Oglethorpe Track and Field is home to the Stormy Petrel men's and women's soccer teams, lacrosse teams and track & field teams. Located inside the track, the field features a synthetic turf surface. In 2013, the field underwent renovations to upgrade and improve the facility. These extensive renovations included new lighting, a new track surface, and the creation of an all-purpose artificial turf field. The Oglethorpe track and field teams use this facility to prepare for their meets. The teams also host events at the facility. The track played host to the 1994 SCAC Track and Field Championships.
Historically speaking, the Oglethorpe men’s and women’s lacrosse programs are the newest teams at the university. Men’s lacrosse became the 15th varsity sport offered at Oglethorpe and began play in the 2010-2011 academic year. The women’s lacrosse team took the field for the first time in the 2012-2013 academic year and became the 16th varsity sport offered at Oglethorpe.
Directions and Parking: To get to the Track and Field, you must first enter the school’s front entrance. After that head straight through the roundabout and past the baseball field. The field will be on your left after the baseball field and the gym. Parking is available in front of the field on your left.  Â
