MURFREESBORO, Tenn. --
Lily Allyene and
Sydney Dattilo won their match at No. 1 doubles in the Oglethorpe women's tennis team's 6-1 loss to Berry Friday evening at Adams Tennis Complex. The match saw the Stormy Petrels end their season in the quarterfinals of the Southern Athletic Association tournament.Â
Allyene and Dattilo were winners over the No. 13 regionally-ranked Berry pair, 8-6 at the top doubles spot. However, Berry took the other two doubles matches before sealing the victory with wins at No. 1, 3, 5Â and 6 singles.Â
Dattilo led the Petrels this season with six singles victories, almost entirely at No. 2 singles.
Izzy Forster and
Alyssa Merletti followed with five singles wins apiece, and
Brianna Ali and Alexis Salgeuiro won four. Oglethorpe's schedule was a tough one this season, as the team faced four regionally ranked teams and two nationally ranked teams. Forster, who played exclusively at No. 1 singles, saw one nationally ranked opponent and two regionally ranked opponents.Â
