ATLANTA—It took nearly all day, but the Oglethorpe men's tennis team rounded out the regular season with a 5-2 win over Millsaps Saturday afternoon. The match started in the morning on the campus of Millsaps but a pair of rain delays forced the match to be moved and finished indoors.
The win followed a 5-0 loss to Birmingham Southern Friday night in Birmingham, and Oglethorpe's women rounded out their 2024 season with losses in both matches, 7-1 to BSC and 5-1 to Millsaps.
The Stormy Petrel men against Millsaps picked up two of the three doubles points thanks to wins from Figge Pernfors/Bailey Raymond at No. 2 doubles and Zack Raymond/Jefferson Page at No. 2 doubles. It then only took wins from B. Raymond, Sam Wasko and Z. Raymond at No. 2, No. 3 and No. 6 singles to clinch the win.
All three won in straight sets to get the Petrels back on the winning track.
