DANVILLE, Ky.—The Oglethorpe men's and women's tennis teams were on the road Saturday for their fight against Centre. The men had a hard match but managed the win 4-3 with Noah George coming through with a clinching win in the final match to finish. The Oglethorpe women could not get a win, falling 7-0.
For the men, Kellen Simmons and Figge Pernfors won their doubles match 6-3. In singles, No. 1 Kellen Simmons won 6-2, 6-3. Sam Wasko also won his singles match after going to a third set in the No. 2 spot. The No. 5 singles was also an Oglethorpe win, with Bailey Raymond winning 6-3, 6-4.
It was all tied up 3-3 before George brought home the win after taking his match 6-2, 7-5.
Both teams will be in Mount Eagle, Tennessee, Sunday, April 13, to battle Sewanee starting at 11 a.m.
