DEMOREST, Ga.—The Oglethorpe men's tennis team controlled Piedmont College, winning 7-0 in Demorest, Georgia, this Thursday afternoon. Oglethorpe's women suffered the reverse fate, falling to the Lions 7-0.
Men's Results
- Sam Wasko and Jefferson Page won their No. 1 doubles match 6-1.
- Kellen Simmons and Figge Pernfors at No. 2 doubles won a 6-3 battle along with No. 3 pair Tyler Hymel and Callum Searle to help Oglethorpe secure the first point.
- Bailey Raymond clinched the Petrel victory as he finished his match 10-4 in a third set super tiebreaker. Raymond split the first two sets, winning 6-1 in the first before dropping the second 8-6 in a tiebreak.
- Marton Szabo and Noah George took down his opponents shortly after 6-3, 6-0 and 6-4, 6-1, respectively.
- A strong 6-2, 6-3 match from Zack Raymond put the final tally up for the Stormy Petrels, making it 7-0.
Women's Results
- The women faced tough opponents but held their own in their second road match of the spring.
- Taylor Gover and Louisa Gorgoll fought hard but fell 6-1 in No. 1 doubles.
- Glover and Haggith Martinez posted the closest matches of the singles action but both fell in straight sets.

The women will be at home to face Agnes Scott on Monday, Feb. 23, at 4 p.m. The men will break until they travel to Florida in March for spring break.
