ATLANTA- The Oglethorpe men's and women's tennis teams competed at home against Covenant College Thursday evening. The men picked up their fourth win of the season, 6-1, while the women competed well but fell 7-0.
Men's Results
- No. 1 doubles pair, Jefferson Page and Sam Wasko, and No. 2 doubles pair, Kellen Simmons and Figge Pernfors, picked up the first point for the Petrels after dominant 6-2 victories to start the day.
- Pernfors and Bailey Raymond picked up points to extend Oglethorpe's lead to 3-1 after the first wave of singles, Raymond going to a third set super tiebreaker and winning 10-7 in the deciding game.
- Noah George then scored the clinching point after picking up a strong win 6-1, 6-4 at No. 5 singles.
- Wasko went to two tiebreaks and finished an extended match with a defining victory in a third set super tiebreaker, winning 6-2, 6-7 (3), 10-8.
- Zack Raymond was the final winner after taking his match 6-1, 6-3.
- The Petrels are on a three-match winning streak against the Scots.
Women's Results
- The women showed resilience and fight against a tough matchup but ultimately were defeated 7-0. Apsana Rai and Grace Elsevier nearly held on but finished 6-3 in their No. 2 doubles match.
- No. 1 doubles pair Taylor Glover and Geianah Thomas played well but fell 6-2.
- Luisa Gorgoll had the closest singles match but lost in straight sets.

The men will take on No. 8 Emory University at home Friday at 4 p.m. Both teams will be back at home on March 28 at 11 a.m. to open Southern Athletic Association play against Rhodes College.
