ATLANTA—Six members of the Oglethorpe women's and men's tennis teams were honored on senior day as the Stormy Petrels wrapped up the regular season at home against Berry Sunday afternoon at Downing Howell Tennis Courts. The day ended with losses of 4-3 on the men's side and 7-0 on the women's side.
Grace Elsevier and Taylor Glover for the women and Tyler Hymel, Jefferson Page, Zack Raymond and Callum Searle for the men were the senior-day honorees. Page brought home a crucial win at No. 2 singles in what proved to be one of the tightest matches of the season.
After Berry snagged the doubles point with an 8-6 tiebreak win at No. 3 doubles, Figge Pernfors turned in a quick 6-1, 6-3 win at No. 3 singles to level the match at 1-1. Page then finished his victory in a third set to put Oglethorpe ahead 2-1, but the Vikings came away with the next three to secure the win.
Bailey Raymond won his match in straight sets to finish the day, but it was only enough to close the gap to 4-3.
The match finished the 2025-26 season for the women, while the men will take the No. 6 seed into next week's Southern Athletic Association Championship.
