MEMPHIS—The Oglethorpe men's tennis team wrapped us its 2025-26 campaign with a 4-1 loss to Southwestern in the quarterfinal stage of the Southern Athletic Association tournament Friday morning. The tournament took place at Leftwich Tennis Complex, home of the NCAA Division I Memphis Tigers.
Sophomore Kellen Simmons, fresh off being named to the All-SAA first team, picked up the lone point for Oglethorpe with a victory at No. 1 singles. He topped Southwestern's top man Bernie Clemente 6-1, 6-2. It cut the deficit to 2-1 after Southwestern took the doubles point and a win at No. 2 singles, but by then the Pirates were already ahead in all four other matches.
Bailey Raymond, after dropping his first set, led 4-2 in the second, and Noah George was even in the second after playing to a tiebreak in the first. However, both of those matches went unfinished as Southwestern wrapped up the win with points at No. 3 and No. 6.
In the day's starting double action, Jefferson Page and Zack Raymond were ahead 4-3 over No. 23-ranked Joseph Snyman and Christo Langford, but that match also went unfinished as Southwestern wrapped up the doubles point on courts two and three.
The Stormy Petrels finished the year with a record of 6-8 overall.
