Cindy Vaios has been a member of the Oglethorpe University Athletics staff since 2008 and currently serves as the Assistant Director of Athletics for Operations, Senior Woman Administrator, and the advisor for the Student Athlete Advisory Committee. Vaios’ responsibilities at Oglethorpe include overseeing the department student workers, and game day and day to day operations.
Vaios’ involvement with Oglethorpe started as a volunteer in 2008 when she assisted with women’s basketball and served as the head coach for the women’s golf team. While in this position, Vaios led the women’s golf team to a top 25 national ranking, coached three All-Americans, and helped four individuals qualify for the NCAA National Championships.
Prior to Oglethorpe
Vaios had a 25-year career in the golf industry where she was one of 125 dual members of both the PGA and LPGA divisions and the first recipient of the Assistant Golf Professional of the Year Award for the South Florida Section.
Vaios worked as a head professional and teaching professional at facilities in Florida, New York, and Georgia.
Education | Personal
A native of Manchester, New Hampshire, Vaios graduated from Dartmouth College with a Bachelor of Arts in English. She later earned a Master of Arts in coaching and athletic administration from Concordia University Irvine. While at Dartmouth, Vaios played both basketball and golf. She earned Ivy League Rookie of the Year, Second Team All-Ivy, and All-Ivy honorable mention honors.
Vaios was also a member of three Ivy League championships in basketball and an ECAC Championship in golf. She is a member of both the Central High School Hall of Fame and the City of Manchester Hall of Fame. In her free time, Cindy enjoys travel, biking, and hiking.
