Kelly Rothwell joined Oglethorpe in January 2025 as a volunteer assistant coach. She is also a science teacher and cross-country/ distance track coach at Whitefield Academy in Mableton, GA.
Rothwell has been coaching since 2020, with experience at the middle and high school levels. At Whitefield she has coached 2 second place team finishes at state, 5 region championship teams, two USTFXCCA All-Americans, one county championship teams, and three individual state champions in track. In 2024 Rothwell was named the Cobb County Boys XC Coach of the year and the 2024 NFHS/GHSA Boys XC Coach of the year, in 2023 she was named Atlanta Track Club Boys XC Coach of the year and GAXCTFC 1A-1 XC coach of the year.

Rothwell earned a Bachelor's in Industrial and Systems Engineering from Georgia Tech in 2001. She is an active leader and volunteer in her church community.Â
