Rus Rainey joined Oglethorpe in 2024 after decades of coaching experience. 

Prior to Oglethorpe

Rainey was a high school teacher and coach for 32 years. He was the head coach of the boys golf team at North Cobb High School. King has also served on the GHSA Golf Advisory committee since 2012.

King and his wife Lori have two sons, both of whom followed in their father’s footsteps and attended North Cobb High School.
