Box Score The Oglethorpe University women's basketball team topped the
Agnes Scott Scotties on Pinholster Court on Wednesday night, 61-49.
After a slow start that saw the Petrels only tally 26 first half
points, Oglethorpe heated up in the second stanza to earn the
non-conference win.
The Petrels grabbed the victory over the Scotties by playing
lockdown defense that forced the Scotties into only 23% shooting
(13 for 56) for the game. Oglethorpe was also able to force 30
Agnes Scott turnovers to turn a four point halftime lead into a
comfortable 12 point win.
Freshman Kaci Palmore posted a team-high 12 points to go along with
9 rebounds and fellow freshman Sarah Giles scored 8 and grabbed a
game-high 13 boards. Katie Weeks chipped in 11 points to round out
the Petrels in double figures.
With the result, Oglethorpe is now 3-2 on the young season and will
travel to face Sewanee in their first SCAC game of the season this
Saturday night.
