The Oglethorpe University women's basketball team lost to
Hendrix College in the SCAC Tournament quarterfinals on Friday
night in Jackson, Mississippi, 73-52. The Petrels held an early 8
point lead over the Warriors and only trailed 35-30 at the half,
but Hendrix managed to extend the margin in the second half for the
win.
The Petrels fought valiantly but come up short despite the team
effort that had the number one seeded Warriors frustrated most of
the night.
Junior Chelsea MacDonald led the Petrels with 10 points on the
night and sophomore Katie Weeks added 11 over he own in the loss.
Oglethorpe shot 49% from the field in the first half but only made
22% of their shots in the second half en route to the season ending
loss. Oglethorpe also missed all 12 of their three-pointers in the
contest.
