The women's basketball team lost to Hendrix College in the quarterfinals of the 2011 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Tournament held in Jackson, Miss. on Friday, 80-57.

The Petrels never led the Warriors and fell behind by double-digits by the score of 20-9 only eight and a half minutes into the game. The Petrels were unable to trim the lead back to single numbers the rest of the way as the No. 1 seed from the West proved to be too much for Oglethorpe

Sarah Jones led Oglethorpe with 18 points on 6-of-10 shooting from the field. Katie Weeks was the only other Petrel in double figures with 11 points on the night. Sophomore Sarah Giles fouled out of the contest after posting 8 points and nine rebounds while seniors Chelsea MacDonald and Morgan Loughrey contributed 9 and 4 points, respectively.

Oglethorpe finishes the 2010-11 season with a 6-19 overall record.
