The volleyball lost their season opening match to Brenau University on Pinholster Court on Wednesday night, 3-0. As the game progressed, Oglethorpe got closer to the Golden Tigers but came up short on some key points in falling.

The Golden Tigers jumped out to a hot start in the first set to open up a comfortable margin en route to a 25-18 victory. The Petrels nipped at the Tigers heels for most of the second set before succombing 25-21. In the third set, Oglethorpe led throughout before Brenau took their first lead at 21-20 and closed out the match, 25-23.

The Petrels are now 0-1 on the young season but will have a chance to bounce back tomorrow afternoon when they face Covenant College on Pinholster Court at 1:00 p.m.
