DANVILLE, Ky. – The Oglethorpe women's soccer team saw its season come to a close Saturday in the quarterfinals of the Southern Athletic Association tournament with a 5-0 loss to Centre.
Centre, the tournament's third seed, scored in the fourth minute what proved to be all the scoring the Colonels would need. It marked only the fifth goal Oglethorpe allowed in the last five-plus games, but the Colonels added to their lead with three more consolation goals in the first half, followed by one more early in the second half.
Centre's Mills Mullen scored the winner in the fourth minute before Bella Nelson added two goals herself.
Oglethorpe goalkeeper Haley Lowell made 10 saves in the loss for her fifth double-digit save game of the year. The Stormy Petrels finished the season with a record of 4-8-3 (1-4-2 SAA).
