ROME, GA - In the last game of the regular season, Oglethorpe was unable to top the Berry College Vikings in a close game, as the final score was 45-42. 
 
This game saw 11 Petrels in the scoring column, who were led by Emma Perna with 10 points, and Jessamy Gaetanos with eight. 
 
The first quarter went back and forth, and ended with an 8-8 tie. The second quarter was also back and forth, until the Stormy Petrels gained the upper hand in the final minutes. Oglethorpe went on a 9-2 run to end the quarter at 19-15. 
 
After halftime, the Petrels seemed to be taking a decent lead, until the Vikings swiftly tied the score at 21-21 halfway in. Oglethorpe was able to pull into the lead again, ending the quarter at 27-26. The fourth quarter was tense as the score went back and forth and tied several times. It was not until the final 60 seconds that Berry pulled into the lead, and Oglethorpe ran out of time as the final score was 45-42.
 
The next game for the Petrels will be in the quarterfinals of the Southern Athletics Association tournament against Birmingham Southern. The game is scheduled for Sunday, Feb. 20, on the road.
