ATLANTA – It was all wins for the Oglethorpe women's tennis team Friday evening as the Stormy Petrels topped visiting Belhaven 9-0 without dropping a set.
Izzy Forster picked up her first collegiate win with a 6-2, 6-0 win at No. 1 singles, and the rest of the Petrel lineup followed suit. Sydney Dattilo won 6-1, 6-1; Lily Allyene won 6-1, 6-0; Alyssa Merletti won 6-3, 6-2; Alexis Salgueiro won 6-4, 6-2; and Brianna Ali won 6-1, 6-0.
The day started with the Petrels coming away victorious in all three doubles matches. Allyene and Dattilo had the closest match in the No. 2 spot, winning 8-5.
For the season, Dattilo, Merletti, Salgueiro and Ali all improved to 3-1 to lead the team in singles wins.
Oglethorpe next faces SCAD Atlanta next Friday, March 18, at home at 2 p.m. The Petrels will then be on the road for five matches before the start of Southern Athletic Association play, which starts in April.
