ATLANTA – Hendrix took two of the doubles points, but the Oglethorpe women's tennis team bounced back in a big way with five singles points to defeat the Warriors 6-3 Saturday at Downing Howell Tennis Courts. The win brought Oglethorpe to .500 on the season at 5-5 (1-1 Southern Athletic Association).
Brianna Ali earned victory in both her matches as she paired with Izzy Forster for a resounding 8-0 win at No. 2 doubles before turning around to defeat Hendrix's Ayden Huckelbury 6-1, 6-2 in singles.
Sydney Dattilo, Alyssa Merletti, Lily Allyene and Alexis Salgueiro also all won in straight sets spanning No. 2 to No. 5 singles. Allyene posted the easiest win with a 6-3, 6-0 decision at No. 4. Dattilo's 7-5, 6-2 win at No. 2 singles and Merletti's 6-3, 6-2 win at No. 3 saw both win their fifth match of the season, leading the team.
