JACKSON, Miss. -- Daniel Cohen and Zoe Raymond kept their perfect seasons intact, and the Oglethorpe men's tennis team topped Millsaps 7-2 Saturday. Millsaps dealt Oglethorpe an 8-1 defeat on the women's side.
The Stormy Petrels improved to 9-1 (4-0 Southern Athletic Association) on the men's side, with Cohen improving to 10-0. This includes a 6-0 record at No. 2 singles, where he defeated Millsaps' Trevor Vaccaro 6-2, 6-0. Raymond improved to 8-0 with a 6-3, 6-1 win at No. 5 singles.
Other victors for Oglethorpe were Kirkman Kiker, who won 6-3, 6-4 at No. 4 singles, and Cameron Burkes, who won 6-1, 6-1 at No. 6 singles. The Stormy Petrels also took all three doubles points, with the closest match happening on court one when Ameya Dani and Cohen won 7-4 in a tiebreak.
Izzy Forster and Brianna Ali earned the only win on the women's side by topping Kiana Everhart and Marissa Brown 8-5 at No. 2 doubles. Alyssa Merletti played a tight opening set at No. 3 singles but lost it in a breaker.
