ROME, Ga. - The Oglethorpe Stormy Petrels fell 3-1 to the No. 13 Berry Vikings on Wednesday, breaking the recent streak of two straight Southern Athletic Association wins.
Cate Rosenthal led with 14 kills followed by Ashlynn Stephens with 11. Libero Sofia Cendoya recorded 23 digs, and Gabbi Phillips had 11. Kylee Zimmer made two service aces.
Oglethorpe earned the very first point of the game, and briefly held a decent lead over Berry. However, the Vikings went on a long kill streak and defeated the Petrels 25-13. Berry then also dominated the second set, winning 25-14.
