MEMPHIS—The Oglethorpe women's soccer team came up short at Rhodes 4-0 Friday afternoon in a Southern Athletic Association matchup. The loss snapped a three-match unbeaten streak for the Stormy Petrels, who moved to 5-4-3 overall and 1-3-1 in the SAA.
Rhodes scored in the 15th minute on a goal from Mary Gale Godwin, and it proved to be all the scoring that was needed. Oglethorpe held steady for the next 30 minutes until Rhodes doubled the lead in the closing minute of the first half to go into the break ahead 2-0.
The second half then followed the same pattern as the first, with Rhodes scoring 15 minutes into the final 45, then following up again 24 minutes later to round out the scoring.
