ATLANTA – The Oglethorpe baseball team traveled across town for a three-game nonconference series at Emory and fell in all three games of the series, 6-3, 11-6 and 13-2.
The Stormy Petrels held the early lead in both games of Saturday's doubleheader but a three-run fifth inning from Emory in game one and seven runs across the fourth and fifth of game two proved to be too much. Emory then pulled away in game three with two big innings in the second and third.
Jonathan Cruz gave Oglethorpe the early lead in the series opener, singling home Carter Guarino for a 1-0 early advantage. Carson Weir and Mason Pearcy made it a 3-1 lead with a pair of singles in the fourth, and Oglethorpe looked well on its way to its first win. However, Emory would score the next five runs in their final four frames to win the opener.
Oglethorpe fell behind in game two but quickly bounced back with a four-run third. This started with another Cruz single, then Maddox Husband drove in a run on a ground ball, and Drew Jabaley rounded out the inning with an RBI single. Jabaley and Parker Hildebrecht were the next two to drive home runs, but that did not come until the ninth inning and by then Emory was already into a big lead.
Emory then capped the series with a pair of big innings in the second and third to pull away with an early lead. Aiden Hosford accounted for the Petrels' first run, scampering home on a wild pitch in the second inning, then Ethan Snipes delivered on a pinch hit in the ninth to score the Petrels' second run.

- Jabaley drove in three runs.
- Colin Stewart, Tate Henderson and Carlie Boyce combined for five relief innings only allowing one earned run.
