ATLANTA – In their final home match of the regular season, the Oglethorpe Stormy Petrels celebrated senior day with a 5-4 victory over the Birmingham Southern College Panthers.
All three seniors recorded wins in singles, with Sydney Dattilo winning 6-3, 2-6, 7-5 at No. 2 singles, Alyssa Merletti winning 7-5, 7-6 (7-2) in No. 3 singles, and Alexis Salgueiro winning 6-4, 6-1 in No. 4 singles. Merletti also won at No. 2 doubles, 8-5 alongside Brianna Ali.
Izzy Forster recorded a 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 1 singles for the fifth point to secure Oglethorpe's victory.
Before the match began, seniors Merletti, Dattilo, and Salgueiro were recognized and received framed letters and flowers.

- Oglethorpe is now 1-1 in Southern Athletic Association play. Both matches were decided 5-4.
- Oglethorpe improved to 4-1 at home.
- Forster moved to 7-3 overall for singles to lead the team. Dattilo moved to 6-5 overall in singles. Â
