ATLANTA—Keimarya Rivera led with 18 points and Malia Melton followed with 11, but it was not enough in an 81-57 loss Oglethorpe suffered to Millsaps Friday night at home. The Stormy Petrels led 13-6 in the opening quarter but an 11-0 Millsaps run put the Majors into the lead for good.
Oglethorpe moved to 10-7 overall on the season and 2-4 in the Southern Athletic Association while Millsaps continued to lead the league with a record of 16-2 (7-0 SAA). The Majors also extended their winning streak to six.
Rivera's 18 points came alongside eight rebounds, the former moving her into the 600-point club. Melton added five rebounds while nine other Petrels entered the scoring column.
Game Notes
- Briley Elder was next in the scoring column with six points, and Elizabeth Luick and Carley Bell followed with five apiece. Luick's marked her career high.
- Jessamy Gaetanos and Allison Hoffmann both dished a team-high three assists.
- In addition to the 600-point club, Rivera also recently entered the 300-rebound club.
- Millsaps leads the all-time head-to-head series 37-28.
