CLINTON, Miss. - The Oglethorpe Stormy Petrels recorded several new personal and even a school record at the Belhaven Invitational, with the Southern Athletic Association Championships approaching on the horizon.

Men's Results

• The team took 3rd of 11 in the 8k.
• Ashton Deriso finished third individually with a new school and personal record time of 25:14, just seven seconds behind runner-up.
• Zachary Benner followed in sixth with a time of 25:36.
• Beck James placed 15th at 26:33.
• Kameron Holmes took 21st with a time of 26:59.
• Anthony Arredondo placed 26th at 27:10.
• Ugohnofure Awarieta placed 48th and recorded a new personal best of 28:37.

Women's Results

• The team took 5th of 16 in the 6k.
• Hannah Rhodes placed 30th with a new PR time of 25:53.
• Riley Michaud and Elliott Baker took 44th and 45th, respectively, both clocking in at just over 27 minutes.
• Evelyn Parral placed 63rd with a time of 28:22.
• Sybella Bertollini recorded a new PR, shaving off nearly a minute from her previous race.

Meet Notes

• SAA members Berry and Hendrix also competed.
• Deriso has broken two school records this season alone, both previously set by him, and has finished in the top five for each race so far.
• Demetrius Moore set a new personal best in the 8k. 
• Fayana Garcia set a new PR in the 6k.

The Stormy Petrels will compete in Geneseo College's Mike woods Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 19. After that, there will be one more meet before the SAA Championships on Saturday, Nov. 2.
