ATLANTA – Head Coach Paul Danielson and the Oglethorpe Stormy Petrels began the 2024 season with an 8-1 win against Agnes Scott Saturday afternoon at Downing Howell Tennis Courts.

Izzy Forster and Taylor Glover combined for a clean 8-0 win at No. 2 doubles shortly before partners Brianna Ali/Maddie Nolen and Alexis Salgueiro/Adeline Horton both recorded 8-3 wins to help Oglethorpe sweep doubles. 

Forster also finished first quick fashion at No. 1 singles, claiming a 6-0, 6-1 win, and Salgueiro finished next with the same score. Ali walked away with a 6-1,6-2 win then Nolen won 6-2, 6-2. Horton's opponent in singles No. 6 put up more of a battle, but the senior earned a 6-4, 6-3 victory.

• Oglethorpe's record against Agnes Scott is now 7-5 all-time.
• The Petrels also defeated the Scotties in last year's spring season opener.
